About the P.R.I.D.E. Program

The P.R.I.D.E. (People Reentering Into Doing Entrepreneurship) Program is a specifically curated course available for inmates, recent parolees, or individuals with a criminal history who face difficulties in securing gainful employment due to their backgrounds. This program champions economic independence and autonomy by endowing the participants with the essential knowledge and skills to start their own businesses and integrate back into society successfully.

A comprehensive 12-week entrepreneurship course designed to help individuals with criminal backgrounds learn various topics such as legal issues, accounting, banking, insurance, business planning, marketing, sales, QuickBooks, positive mental attitude, and soft skills. The program consists of weekly, 2-hour sessions that include a mix of 60% business data and 40% life lessons.

Education

In-depth Entrepreneurship Training

This intensive 12-week course covers both entrepreneurship and life lessons. It comprises weekly 2-hour sessions that delve into various key areas like legalities, finance management, insurance, business planning, marketing approaches, sales techniques, and Quickbooks training. These training sessions are structured to allocate 60% to business-related subjects and 40% to life skill lessons.

Expert Guides and Mentorship

  • The P.R.I.D.E. Program sets itself apart by bringing in local experts on board for each session. These guest lecturers provide hands-on industry expertise, thereby making sure the participants get not just theoretical knowledge but practical skills as well.

  • Additionally, upon completion of the course, every participant is paired with a mentor for half a year. The mentors closely track the participant's progress and offer support during monthly meetings. The program's commitment is further exemplified by their sustained contact with graduates post the six-month mentoring period.

Extensive Business Opportunity Discussions

A significant part of the course involves discussing over 100 service business start-up ideas. This methodology provides the participants with a extensive spectrum of potential business opportunities. This amalgamation of diverse business ideas, comprehensive course content, and continued mentorship thus positions the P.R.I.D.E.
